Challenge
- To send more urban youth to summer camp this year, DCBC needed additional
funds. The funds were needed within a sixty-day period and the challenge
was to produce a no-budget activity. The WHARTON GROUP was challenged to
produce an event in short time and met the challenge by planning a fundraising
event with the UNIVERSOUL CIRCUS.
|
|
|
Scope of Services
- Identified an event; devised and implemented a fundraising plan with the
Circus; developed with DCBC staff a marketing strategy, budget and finance
structure; developed a creative plan to involve DCBC participating membership;
worked with the circus staff to plan the event; sought corporate sponsorship;
on-site management of the event.

|
|
Results -
The event that hosted 22 churches and 1800 attendees under the big top tent
received corporate and local faith-base support. The fundraising goal was
met and more youth will be able to attend summer camp as a result of the
effort. The client and the event sponsors were recognized at the circus
and were extremely pleased that the goals were met. This event was a first
for the client.
