Joan E. Grant, Technical Writer and Editor
Joan Grant has more than 40 years as an educator, educational administrator, researcher, writer-editor, and publicist. She worked in the DC Public Schools as an elementary school teacher and Director of the Migrant Education Program. When she retired from the public school system, she joined the staff at the DC Public Libraries and presently serves as a member of the DC Pubic Library's Focus and Planning Group on the Homework Help Plus Centers. She is also a member of the Committee for Planning and Construction.
Ms. Grant's experiences as a professional editor -writer have assisted public and private sector agencies in the development of public relations materials, budget documents, grant applications and evaluations, press releases, articles, editorial pieces, and special reports. Her clientele also includes academicians, students, clergy, and community organizations. As chief of the WHARTON GROUP Technical Writing and Editing Team, Mrs. Grant is responsible for the coordination and quality assurance of all written products. Her command of the written word, and her keen attention to detail and accuracy of information are added values to the team. She received her undergraduate education at DC Teachers' College and Master of Arts degree in education at Catholic University in Washington, DC.
